Elegance

This is a word that in todays society you just never hear anymore.

Its one of those things in which you either have it or not.  One of those moments of authentic beauty in which every cell in your body gives this vibration of grace.

That quiet stillness I still talk about.

My 94-year-old grandmother who passed away last year had it.  In fact she was the women who taught me that.

She taught me many things.

Oh I knew she had skeletons like the rest of us.  I knew she was holding deep dark secrets like the rest of us.

And every once in awhile she would tell them to me.

She would say some things that as a young man I may have not understood.  But as I get older as I reach a little beyond that boyhood feel.  I recall her words.

Her total mystery.

Elegance is the movement of your body.  Straight to the soul.

Of utter insight into this very being you are.

In her world we were never paupers.  In her world we were a line of kings and queens.

And it was a beauty to behold.

To see that.

To taste that.

To see the very essence of what we may all want.

To see us in utter significance
Way beyond the color of our skin.

Elegance is a movement in silence.
A way to live beyond words.

Like a moving meditation.

Like a total ballet.

With that crisp ironed shirt.  The smell of utter cleanliness beyond words.

Of roses I would say.

An essence way beyond words.

The Bold

“Don’t let small thinking cut your life down to size.  Think big, aim high, act bold.  And see just how big you can blow up your life.”
-Gary Keller, The ONE Thing.

About four years ago when I was working with a real estate software company I took over an account that was lead by an interesting man who wrote some interesting books, interesting words.  And I understood pretty quickly what he was talking about.  His whole spiel was about stopping the suffering and shifting our mindsets.

Shifting our thinking.

In this case it was business, but in some of the greatest books I have ever read, the ones that inspired me the most were these type of guys trying to lead by example.  Napoleon Hill’s, Think and Grow Rich being the first book I ‘ve ever read in that category.

To inspire people is one of the greatest challenges we will ever face as single human beings.  Most of us cannot even inspire our own selves.  I myself need a helluva lot time sometimes to get moving in the direction I want to go.

But sometimes life sends us some interesting messages, some interesting experiences.  Where you realize life is finite.  It may not last longer than the breath you just took.

I have lost some pretty deep people close to me along this path.  But as I continue to move I understand just how lucky I was to even have met them in the first place.

Life is indeed a fragile thing.

But enough of the reminiscing.  Enough of the words.

Out there in the field you and I live lies a thing called action.  And it is at this point in this amazing world you and I live daily that allows us to create some interesting things.

Out on the edge of this breathing we unknowingly do every day.  Lies a field we indeed create.

It is my hope that people indeed get out on that edge.  To really live. To be their own bold self.

To see how much beauty, you and I have every day.

To understand the privilege to just live.
To understand the privilege to just breathe.

To live a life of boldness.
This life we came here to live.

Think big.
Aim high.

Be Love in Action.

Home

rays-of-light-1-1396620

Among the softly moving clouds
Out towards the brilliant crystal white light

Way out past our own level of murky understanding

Past the fears
Past the insecurities

Even past death…

I bravely arrived to a feeling of quiet stillness
A place of goldenly warm peace

And then I finally slowly opened my eyes

As the cleansing waters washed over me

To this realization of exquisite beauty
That feeling of being acutely and utterly Alive

To this place
This oasis of life

They call Love

Waiting On The World To Change

the-snake-river-1546837

Out on the waters of life

The swift moving currents
The slow moving bends

Lies an energy

One in which we usually hold completely outside of ourselves
One in which we desperately want to be a part of

One in which the Me
Becomes the We

And the World,
The Universe,
Life…

Awaits for some bold moment
One bold moment of Change

Where we finally become Life itself again
Something they call Love

Where the wind whispers in your ear,
The earth touches your skin,
And the energy reawakens your heart

To a bold new reality

Where the mist finally clears
And we move swiftly as One

Down through magnificent smoky mountains,
Brightly colored canyons,
Bold mystical forests,
Dry bony deserts,
And fruitful valleys

Back home

To the Sea.
